20 July 2026: Targeting Illegal Gambling Internationally
The Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC) monitors the perimeter and takes illegal gambling and its associated risks very seriously. The GSC works locally and internationally with partner agencies, providing operational support to foreign authorities where Isle of Man licensed to ensure Isle of Man operators are not operating unlawfully in their jurisdictions and take down illegal sites, ensuring consumer protection.
The GSC has cooperated with a number of jurisdictions, recently including Türkiye, where it has notified operators of foreign prohibitions, enabling counterparts to enforce their market‑access rules efficiently. This cooperation demonstrates the GSC’s willingness to assist counterparts in other jurisdictions in addressing illegal gambling activity and to protect the integrity and reputation of the Isle of Man’s framework.
The GSC also works to take action and ensure the timely removal of sites illegally purporting to hold a GSC licence which may appear to be based in or operate through the Isle of Man through IP routing.
The recent establishment of an Intelligence and Enforcement Division* within the GSC is intended to rebalance workload across the Commission and allow greater specialisation, including resource dedicated to Perimeter Monitoring, enhancing the GSC’s proactive approach to identifying and addressing illegal gambling activity and taking any subsequent action.
Registers of current and previous licence holders are published on the GSC website, alongside the 40 genuine and approved URLs of sites held by GSC licence holders. The website also includes a register of websites that may be fraudulently claiming to be licensed or are spoof sites of current licence holders.
