20 May 2025: GSC strengthens information sharing provisions

GSC Isle Of Man

The Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC) Permitted Disclosures Order 2025 designates various public authorities and individuals who are permitted to receive restricted information by a disclosure from the GSC. These include departments, statutory boards, the Attorney General, and others involved in regulatory and supervisory functions.

The GSC may already disclose restricted information in certain circumstances and regularly exercises its powers of information sharing in cooperation with various agencies, including the Isle of Man Constabulary and the Isle of Man Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).

The Order builds upon existing powers, with a particular focus on increasing the circumstances in which the GSC may disclose restricted information to other public authorities in the Island as part of a collaborative all-island approach to countering Money Laundering, the Financing of Terrorism and Proliferation (ML/TF/PF).

The Order represents a positive step forward for the GSC and its ability to collaborate and coordinate with other public authorities on the Island. This enhancement strengthens the GSC’s regulatory oversight and contributes to a more robust and secure regulatory framework for gambling activities in the Isle of Man.
