29 May 2026: GSC Staff Attend May Plenary

Gambling Supervision Commission Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Nicola Libreri, Technical Specialist Harrison Webb and Inspector David Quinn attended the MONEYVAL Plenary in Strasbourg this week, joining delegates from across Europe and beyond to discuss the latest developments in the global fight against money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing.

What is the Plenary?

The Plenary provides an important forum for jurisdictions to share experiences, discuss emerging risks and consider developments in the implementation of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Standards

Participation also supports continued international cooperation and the exchange of best practice in strengthening AML/CFT/CPF frameworks.
Although the Isle of Man is not part of the European Union, it participates in MONEYVAL through the Council of Europe framework. As a MONEYVAL jurisdiction, the Island is assessed against the FATF Recommendations, showing its commitment to an effective, internationally aligned regime to combat financial crime.

With preparations continuing for the Isle of Man's next mutual evaluation, attending the Plenary provided a valuable opportunity to engage with international partners, contribute to technical discussions and remain informed of developments that support the Island's ongoing commitment to meeting global standards.
